Lincoln Park Loft

A new construction loft apartment in the coveted Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago is what attracted this client to purchase her new home. After purchasing this residence the owner decided she needed to modify the loft to suit her needs. The goal was to accommodate her treasured book collection as well as the comfort of her guests when entertaining. In order to bring a little soul to this home, a two-person dining room was transformed into a reading alcove that established a number of spaces to install custom bookshelves. The guest bedroom became a dining room adorned with Japanese woodwork that inspired a custom-built table with fitted block-like components. The window treatments were reversed with a central valence and flanking drapes adding interesting detail to the space, while Keith Haring-style prints add a touch of whimsy. Clever reinvention of this space helped her to regain the pride and joy of entertaining in the comfort of her new home.
