On June 19, the Parkways Foundation, a partner of the Chicago Park District, held its 6th annual Garden Party fundraiser at Northerly Island. The event, attended by over 650 guests, included both a silent auction and a raffle and raised $44,000. All proceeds raised will go towards building a new soccer field in McKinley Park. Silent auction and raffle prizes included a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklace, American Airlines tickets to London and vacation packages to both Rhode Island and Sanibel Island. The midday party got underway with performances by the GoGirlGo! dancers and young violinists from Sherwood Park. Over lunch the guests were also privy to a fashion preview by Chicago designer Maria Pinto. The Parkways Foundation bestowed special honors upon the Abbott Fund, presented with the Jens Jensen Award, and Dona
Scott, who won the Council Ring Outstanding Volunteer Award.
